Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the development and deployment of new camera manufacturing systems including high precision fixturing. You will work closely in a team environment within the company and with customer teams from world class technology companies to ensure that technical requirements are satisfied and the project is on schedule. Your work will involve designing new equipment for camera module assembly, optical alignment, adhesive dispensing, UV cure and test. You may be involved in the installation of equipment lines worldwide, which will require the ability to travel when needed.

  • Design of precision fixtures for customer components (optical and sensors)
  • Coordinate with outside suppliers to define and procure machined components
  • Specify and integrate various machine components, including pneumatics, motion stages and other process specific equipment
  • Design electro-mechanical machine subassemblies for use in the product line
  • Create detailed mechanical drawings for manufacturing
  • Prepare machine operation manuals, BOMs, and other technical documentation
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to introduce new product features and customizations
  • Hands-on assembly, troubleshoot and debug of electro-mechanical systems and resolve design issues when necessary
  • Participate in design reviews and technical strategic planning sessions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending and implementing changes in operations, operating policies and procedures
  • Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks CAD software
  • Work well in a team environment, demonstrating respect for others
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Experience providing on-site customer product support
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Education & Experience Requirements
  • BS, Engineering or equivalent
  • 4-6 Years of related Engineering experience, 2-4 with Masters Degree
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
