Quality Assurance

Job Summary

Manages the development and maintenance of quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products for a business unit or corporate. Execute internal audits of quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

Develops and implements quality plans, programs, and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and analyses. Ensures that performance and product quality conforms to established company and customer requirements. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly and process. Investigates problems and develops dispositions, modifications and corrective actions for recurring or non-recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.

Represents the Supplier Quality Management function of technical support, leads containment and resolution of supplier quality issues with the manufacturers and communicate status on non-conforming parts/suppliers across all programs. Evaluates supplier performance, drives supplier improvements and corrective actions through the SCAR process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages compliance all site required agency certifications related to product and process quality. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, QS9000, ISO 14000 and TS16949
  • Manages the auditing process of quality systems for deficiency identification and correction, and ensures that corrective action plans are put into place and executed in a timely manner
  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control plans and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
  • Analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
  • High level to define the technical support on develops and implements Supply base strategies that drive improvements is supplier selection, development, and leverage across customer programs for quality improvements and cost savings
  • Provides regular updates to Quality Manager on the execution of the strategy
  • Provides support for NPI activities by participation in the AQP (Advanced Qualification Program) process as required
  • Defines and develops the appropriate Inspection Plans and Inspection Methods, directs Receiving Inspection Auditors
  • Defines and develops the inspection processes via inspection aids and instruction guidelines
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Preferred Engineering or Technology disciplines
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Quality AND Manufacturing Engineering or new product introduction required
  • Language skills: advanced English
  • Knowledge in auditing processes. Certification as internal auditor acc. ISO 19011 preferred
