In an international team, Jabil Optics Germany develops innovative customized opto-electronics modules for new generation products in consumer lifestyle, automotive and industrial.

For our R&D location in Jena, Germany, we are seeking a:

System Architect (male/female)

Your contribution to something big
  • Coordinate and realize system designs of complex, highly automated products including pilot runs for serial production
  • Compile requirement specifications for system design and system components including technical and commercial characteristics
  • Manage life cycle of platforms and system components
  • Support the design process from a system architecture perspective
  • Lead the technical integration and validation of system components (compile control and system validation plans)
  • Prepare technical documentations on components and system solutions
  • Carry out competitor analyses and benchmarking with regards to system architecture
  • Communicate and present component and system solutions
  • Collaborate with the technology management, partners and system suppliers on a technical level
What distinguishes you
  • Master's Degree in either Physics, Electronics, or Engineering
  • Many years of professional experience in the opto-electronics industry
  • Experience in the setup of product lines and transfer of new products into mass production
  • Broad technical and scientific knowledge
  • Deep knowledge in optics, mathematics, IT systems, as well as software and machine control programming
  • Knowledge with regards to quality standards in the manufacturing industry and technology development (ISO 9001, 13485)
  • Experience with CAD, optics design and simulation of physical effects
  • Proficient command of the English language, both orally and in writing
  • Willingness to travel world-wide (20%)
